AC/DC, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Alice in Chains and Autograph. What do they have in common? If you can not answer that question without cheating, I do not know if I want you reading my blog. I am going to have to ask you to leave now and leave the grownups to their work.
They are all bands popular in the 80s. AMAZING bands, who made amazing music, back when music was actually good. Do you think that crap on the radio today is good? It is catchy, sure. But no where near great like it used to be. I will give you an example. Lyrics from one of the most popular singers today, Justin Bieber: "If I was your boyfriend, I'd never let you go, I can take you places you ain't never been before. Baby take a chance or you'll never ever ever know. I got money in my hands that I'd really like to blow. Swag swag swag on you. Chillin by the fire while we eatin' fondue. I dunno about me but I know about you. So say hello to falsetto in three two swag." And now a lyric from ACDC: "She was a fast machine, she kept her motor clean. She was the best damn woman that I ever seen. She had the sightless eyes, telling me no lies. Knockin me out with those American thighs. Takin more than her share, had me fighting for air, she told me to come but I was already there."
Can you see the difference? Go listen to them on youtube, if you still like JB better, there is no hope for you. There are several other popular bands from the 80s such as Poison, Pink Floyd, Kiss, Motley Crue, U2, INXS and the list of amazing artists go on and on. Do not get me wrong, there are a few songs from today that are good. But in my opinion, the 80's produced way better music than artists today ever will. Music used to mean something. These days people seem to latch on to songs about money, making it "rain" on "hoes/hos" or getting away with cheating on several people. Music did not include "dancing" -read dry humping- around in next to nothing. For that reason, I am nostalgic and angry. You are not living until you are rocking out to an 80's song in your living room.
I'm not a huge 80's fan for the most part, but I can appreciate the music. I'm more 90's lol. But I'm also a 90's baby, so that's to be expected I guess.
ReplyDeleteWell, 90's was pretty good too...but about 2005, music started going to crap!!
ReplyDeleteHey even now if your listening to the right things music is still good.
ReplyDeletePs this is so not about the avengers lol
